Aspheric optics in IOLs align the light rays to compensate for positive corneal spherical aberration, resulting in improved image quality and increased contrast sensitivity in cataract surgery patients with astigmatism. CIMA foldable CIMflex series IOLs feature an enhanced aspheric optic that improves vision by correcting the positive spherical aberration present in the normal cornea. Our optimized optical surface is designed to reduce spherical aberration and provide excellent depth of field with minimal modulation transfer function (MTF) loss in case of decentration.

In order to reduce Posterior Capsular Opacification (PCO), CIMflex IOLs also feature a 360° Square Edge for a continuous edge along the haptic-optic junction. As a result, lenticular epithelial cells are prevented from using the haptic-optic junction as a route for invading the optic area. Once inside the capsular bag, the “pre-vaulted” haptics force the optic to vault towards the posterior side for increased contact with the posterior capsule, creating a complete barrier to PCO and increased stability. In addition, the new CIMflex IOLs have a reduced center thickness and slim lens profile to facilitate implantation and allow for small incision cataract surgery techniques.

In IOLs, the quality of the raw material used is critical in the performance of the lens. CIMflex IOLs are made from two proven highly purified, highly biocompatible acrylic polymers, Hydrophobic Acrylic and Hydrophilic Acrylic for optimum performance and reliability.
CIMA foldable Hydrophilic Acrylic IOLs are available in a wide range of various designs that suit many different surgical styles. Our state-of-the-art equipment combined with ultra precision lathing and milling techniques result in unmatched optical surface quality and next generation square edge technology.

Information coming soon.
CIMA Technology, Inc. has developed a new line of foldable IOLs that take advantage of the latest technology in UV-A blocking and violet light filtering material. CIMA yellow IOLs improve upon the natural yellow chromophore present in the human crystalline lens by providing increased protection against harmful UV light while allowing optimal blue light transmission, improving contrast sensitivity in low light conditions and maintaining excellent visual acuity and color perception. The single use CIMflex Injector is designed for the safe, effective and precise delivery of all CIMflex series IOLs. Its unique plunger system uses the viscoelastic solution to help create a hyraulic effect during the injection process, allowing for a smooth and controlled delivery of the IOL through the cartridge while avoiding bubbles resulting in a clear field of vision during surgery.

The CIMflex Injector is loaded by inserting the back of the cartridge into the front of the injector in order to protect the cartridge tip. This is an improvement over previous delivery systems where the cartridge is loaded by inserting the cartridge tip into the injector first, risking damage to the most critical part of the delivery system.
